· Active 2-way system with built-in 40 watt per channel amplifier built into one of the speakers, negating the need for a separate amplifier, There is one active and one passive speaker

· Docking station for an iPod built-in. No separate docking unit. Any version will fit thanks to the inclusion of accessories to accommodate all iPods. Also can be used with AirPort wireless module

· Rear panel jack plug to accommodate the connection of any MP3 or MP4 player

· RCA stereo inputs to permit connection of any hi-fi source product, tuner, CD player etc.

· RCA stereo outputs to allow for the connection of a subwoofer. If you want to run a second pair of AktiMate speakers, the RCA outputs accommodate daisy chaining as well

· Fully shielded, so placement alongside a monitor presents no problem

· USB connector so that an iPod or MP3 can be directly charged from the speaker

· Comes in a choice of colors – initially gloss black or gloss white – with red to be added in the near future. Each speaker stands less than 12 inches high

· Comes complete with speaker cable to connect the speakers to each other – in other words everything you need is right there in the box
